a.定冠詞the在元音音素前發(fā)/ei:/或/ei/;在輔音音素前發(fā)/e?/。判斷一個單詞是以元音開頭還是以輔音開頭，應根據(jù)音標而不是元音字母a,e,i,o,u.
b.同時，不定冠詞a和an的發(fā)音也遵循這條規(guī)則，即a用在以輔音音素開頭的單詞前，讀作/?/，只有強調時才讀作/ei/。an用在以元音音素開頭的單詞前，一般讀作/?n/,只有強調時才讀作/?n/.
