“比……活(存在)的時(shí)間長(zhǎng)”,作及物動(dòng)詞
③A few pages of the original manuscript still survived.作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),意思是“幸存;繼續(xù)存在”
3.Frederick William I,the King of Prussia,could never have imagined that his greatest gift to the Russian people would have such an amazing history.普魯士國(guó)王威廉一世絕不可能想到他送給俄羅斯人民的厚禮會(huì)有這樣一段令人驚訝的歷史。

Translation:

It must have rained last night,for the road was quite muddly.
2.我剛才看見(jiàn)王先生了,他不可能去北京。(could)
I saw Mr.Wang just now.He couldn't have gone to Beijing.
4.It was also a treasure decorated with gold and jewels,which took the country's best artists about ten years to make.
[點(diǎn)撥]本句是一個(gè)主從復(fù)合句。逗號(hào)前為主句,其中“decorated with gold and jewels”為過(guò)去分詞短語(yǔ)作treasure的后置定語(yǔ);逗號(hào)后為which引導(dǎo)的非限制性定語(yǔ)從句,修飾先行詞treasure。take sb.some time表示“花了某人一些時(shí)間”。這個(gè)結(jié)構(gòu)也可改寫(xiě)為句型:it takes sb.some time to do sth.。
5.However,the next King of Prussia,Frederick William I,to whom the amber room belonged,decided not to keep it.
然而,下一位普魯士國(guó)王,腓特烈威廉一世,這個(gè)琥珀宮的主人卻決定不要它了。
