    How can we divide these things?
    Countable nouns:
    animal     place     river
    mountain     field     forest     plant
    Uncountable nouns:
    light     pollution     air     rubbish
    land     water     sea     food
    Countable and uncountable nouns
    In English,we can count some things,e.g.rivers and mountains,We cannot count other things,e.g.water and air.

     I have a world map at home.   All plants need light and water.
     There is an article about the Earth.
     This plant is beautiful.   Air has no smell.
     These animals are dangerous  Water is important.
                  
    Work out the rule
    (Countable/Uncountable)nouns can have plurals.
    We can use a or an before(countable/uncountable)nouns
    Uncountable nouns only take(singular/plural)verbs.

    Yes,there is./No,there isn't.
    There are different plants and animals on Earth.
    Are there five apples in the bag?
    Yes,there are.No,there aren't.
    Work out the rule
    We use ________ with a singular noun or an uncountable noun.
    We use ________ with a plural noun.
    Things to remember
    there is=there's
    there is not=there isn't
    there are not=there aren't
    Note the difference below:
    There is a glass of water and three apples on the table.
    There are three apples and a glass of water on the table.
    There be句型be動(dòng)詞的單復(fù)數(shù)取決于緊挨著be的名詞的單復(fù)數(shù)。也稱就近原則。
